Mount Kilimanjaro Expedition 2012
Kilimanjaro Food
If you are in any way worrying about what you will be eating on your Kilimanjaro expedition, don't sweat! The food on the mountain is absolute scrumptious. Do leave your diet at home though. The daily Kilimanjaro menu is created in such as way as to provide you with the neccessary energy you will be needing to get through everyday, so eat as much as you can!
The breakfast menu generally consists of bread, rottis, fruit, and sometimes eggs.
Lunch is always some or other cooked meal, or a snack pack if you eat on the trail.
When you return to camp after the day's hike, a plate of popcorn and hot tea will be waiting.
For dinner you can expect a high carb meal as well as vegetables of some kind. Soup is always served as a starter.
All meals generally include juice or tea. Coffee is sometimes provided, although I would not recommend that you drink too much caffeine, as caffeine tends to dehydrate you body, and you need as much fluid as possible!
